Lunch Celebration

It Almost Feels Like Spring
The weather has been beautiful and we've been getting outside. Sunday we were going to stay close to home and go for a hike but then both kids fell asleep in the car and we went farther afield. We ended up in Steveston where we enjoyed fish and chips at Dave's for a late lunch and then went to watch the kites at Garry Point. Kiera was upset that we didn't have our kite with us but enjoyed playing on the beach.
Today was a bit of a treat as Daddy was home this morning (Ken is on swing shift this week helping get the guys on night shift set up). Again, the sun called us outside and we went to Mill Lake. It seems like it has been a very long time since we've been to a playgroud! Kiera enjoyed watching the ducks.
We then took Kiera to McDonalds for lunch to celebrate no more diapers! I think we may have been able to make this step a while ago but I wasn't ready to tackle it fully until now. I had one or two other things to do - you know minor stuff, like having a baby! The advantage of waiting has been that we've been able to make the transition very easily.
When Riley's naps aren't on the road in his car seat or stroller, they are now on his own upstairs. Until last week, I was wearing him in the sling for most of his naps. Today I managed over an hour to myself with both kids napping. I'm not likely to have too many more hours like that as Kiera doesn't nap every day and may not be napping for much longer.

My Kids!
Ken and I still have to pause when we say 'my kids' but we do think they are cuties!

Here they are at Ambleside on our way home from the Kiewit conference this week. Kiewit put us up in a fantastic room with a view at the Pan Pacific.
We had a great time and got to sleep in a few mornings in a row! We took advantage of being downtown on Saturday - Kiera and Ken enjoyed the 'Walking with Dinosaurs' show and Riley and I went shopping on Robson. Then we decided to head to the beach to enjoy the sunshine. It was a little cold (okay, not by Winnipeg standards) but nice to be outside at the ocean on a sunny day.
