Vernon Road Trip

Easter weekend we went on a road trip to Vernon to visit Ken's sister Donna and Robin.

Saturday, we went up SilverStar to check out the village. Kiera and Auntie Donna had a snowball fight and climbed the snow bank.
Ta-da!

Sunday morning Kiera woke up to discover the Easter bunny had been by to hide treats and toys.

She had to take her new Butterfly Faries out to meet Boo and Kia.
Kiera also tried out the new mitt, softball, and cap she got from Auntie Donna.

The wind-up...
and pitch...
Sunday we went to Kin beach and playground on Lake Okanogan. Kiera had a blast feeding the ducks, running on the beach and building a sandcastle.

She also had fun on the swings, slide, and going round and round on the Merry-go-round...
Thanks for a great weekend Auntie Donna and Uncle Robin!

Ballroom Belles

Kiera and Melissa had a 'ball' on a playdate at Melissa's house last week. They dressed up as princesses and even did some ballroom dancing. Click here for a link to photos from Missy's blog.

Eggstravaganza!

Kiera and I decided to decorate Easter eggs this afternoon. Kiera has been waiting a looooong time to use this egg kit as I bought it last year and she 'found' it as I was cleaning out Riley's room a few months ago. Look at all the pretty colours...
Concentrate...

Getting more sophisticated... half yellow and half pink.
There was even a Dora Easter Egg game for us to play as we waited for the eggs to dry.

Riley only had eyes for his big sis and refused to look at me. (Notice Kiera is missing her right sock? That is one of her quirks, that foot gets 'too hot' and she usually takes off that one sock when we are at home.)
Finally dry and Kiera can add stickers.
Kiera begged to try one of the eggs...
but it wasn't the chocolate she was hoping for!
Happy Easter!

Where's Riley?

Sometimes when Riley is in the sling, you almost forget he is there. It is much different than keeping tabs on a moving three year old. I rarely use the stroller. Riley and I both like the sling much better.

Riley enjoyed facing out to see the fish when we first got to the Aquarium...
after an hour or so, I turned him to face me and he fell right asleep for the rest of the visit.
Here he is sleeping again at Harrison Hot Springs two weeks ago. It's a little like being pregnant again, only the bump is a little higher up and I'm not waddling!

2nd Beach

It was too nice a day not to take full advantage of Stanley Park and Kiera still had energy to burn so we headed over to the playground at 2nd Beach. Remember the firetruck? It is still there, but the park has lots of new equipment too - really cool climbing structures, and flying saucer swings.

Laughing

First Kiera laughed until she had tears streaming down her face....

later we did...

Aquarium

Lots of fun at the Aquarium today...

an inside view of a frog habitat with all 3 stages in the frog life cycle inside. the best view in the house for watching the dolphin show.(She would barely turn away from the dolphin tank to pose for me.)fascinated by the Bobs and Lolo musical performance
Melissa was dancin'
and Kiera got right up into the kiddie mosh pit - front and center.

Bumbo

Here is Riley in his new Bumbo seat. He was having fun slobbering on his fingers and sitting with Kiera and I as we played board games on the floor.
