A Party for a Princess

Here is a post I started almost a month ago but due to technical difficulties didn't post at the time... and haven't been on blogger since!

We had a lot of fun celebrating Melissa's 3rd Birthday with her - Princess style!

Jolly Jumper

Riley tried out the Jolly Jumper for the first time today. He was talking to me and telling me all about it.
I think he liked it.
Here is Kiera in June of 2005 when she was 4 1/2 months old, the same age Riley is now. This is the first time I've really looked at photos of them at the same age. I'm surprised at how much they do look alike... although, maybe the hair and the big eyes have a lot to do with it.

So can you tell who is in the photo below? Did Riley need a change of clothes (not out of the question for Mr. Drool) or has that same laundry been there since 2005?

Kiera at Three Years

Kiera at three years...

likes dinos, princesses, butterfly faeries, families, playing hide and go seek or 'rescue'.

has an imaginary ("No they are real Mom!") family of brothers and sisters and a grandma. She doesn't know all their names, but there is George and Ali. Kiera talks about her brothers and sisters daily. They live in Paris (it is far away, you need to fly in a plane to get there), have a tree house that is yellow and gray and black, and like to play games.

wants to DO IT HERSELF... unless YOU want her to do it herself, then she wants you to help.

likes to watch the movie Cars in the car (and sorry for the toddler potty humour here but read Pooh when she...).

likes peanut butter and jam sandwiches, chicken fingers, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, candy, pancakes, fruit loops, granola bars, mandarin oranges.

is not a morning person.

loves smooshing, poking, hugging, and entertaining Riley.

Riley at Four Months

Riley at four months...

is very happy and smiles if you so much as look his way.

likes it dark when he goes to sleep but NOT in the car.

likes chewing on his fingers, his mimi, his toys, your fingers....

laughs if you clean under his chin or pretend to sneeze.

LOVES his big sister Kiera.

I Guess It Fits the Star Theme...

Thursday Ken came home from work with this

Now, I'm almost done sewing the decor for Riley's room and there is a 'star' theme to it, but I was going for more for 'starlight, starbright' than Imperial Star Destroyer! Oh well, Kiera thinks it is pretty cool (even if she can't touch it) and I'm sure Riley will too. Now all we have to do is figure out how to suspend it from the ceiling and what to do with these spare parts...

Just kidding Mr. Jeff and thanks!

On The Road Again

The kids and I are just back from our second road trip. We drove to Seattle with Auntie Reena, Grandma and Grandpa.

Here's the original reason for the trip: Reena's favorite band 311.We decided to turn it into a shopping trip and shop till we dropped... or at least until we had to buy new shoes! (I should have taken a photo of the shoes. We're sure it's a genetic problem that affects the females in the family.) Kiera got a new pair of princess slip-ons. We were barely out of the store when she made a new discovery - "Hey mom, watch! I can fling them off!" and with a kick the shoe went sailing.

Kiera worked on her princess collection from McDonalds... she didn't quite collect the whole set during the trip, but she gave it a good try.
