Happy Halloween!

Halloween is one of Kiera's favourite times of the year.  We had a busy and fun day yesterday and we are even squeezing in one more Halloween party this afternoon.

Treasure Hunters

We've got a new hobby - Geocaching.  We went for our first family 'treasure hunt' this weekend.

First Haircut

Today was Riley's first haircut and Kiera's first professional haircut.  The place we went to was great.  They had a tractor for Riley and an ATV for Kiera.  Not to mention toys, bubbles, sparkles for Kiera's hair and lollypops!

Riley was not happy about having to wear a smock.  But then we distracted him with bubbles, toys, and his mimi and all was okay for the rest of the haircut.

Drafting His Manuscript

Riley likes to get down on his belly with paper and a pen (or two) and scribble away.

Dinotown

Dinotown may be in need of some maintenance but the kids still had a lot of fun.  Riley ran around shouting "dinoSAURS" and Kiera got soaked at the bottom of the inflatable waterslide.

A Mud Puddle Jumped On Me!

We had another great day at the beach this weekend.  Riley is a little like pig pen though.  Head to toe mud and sand within seconds of arriving.

 

Summer is Here

Coming down made Kiera a little nervous, but it obviously wasn't too bad as she immediately turned around and climbed it again.

Lemonade Stand

Riley made his first purchase on the weekend at Melissa's Lemonade stand.

Going to the zoo zoo zoo

Yesterday Kiera's class went on a field trip to the zoo.  Riley and Kiera both decided the giraffes were their favourite animals.

Road Trip

Last week we were tourists again.  This time Auntie Reena took us on a road trip to Hell's Gate and Minter Gardens.  It was the first time I'd been to either place.

Harrison Hot Springs

We had a fantastic day at the beach yesterday.

Riley was VERY serious about filling buckets with sand and water.

Kiera had fun letting the wind catch her new hat and chasing it down the beach.  It was also a perfect day to fly our kite - I don't think we've ever launched it that easily.

Some May Events

Maybe this one should be saved for Father's Day.  Three generations of fathers and sons for Grandpa's birthday.

Last week Auntie Reena took us to be tourists in Vancouver.  Riley's reactions at Science World were great.  He was overloaded with all the stuff to see.  He liked the balloons and the fishies and roared at the tyrannosaurus skeleton.

We also went to the Aquarium (lots more fishies!) and after we met Grandma and Grandpa for a picnic at the beach.

I also finished the dolls I was making for the kids.  Meet Toby and Daisy.
